About
My journey in GIS and geospatial technology grew out of a fascination with the natural world, beginning with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Over time, I realized that understanding the environment isn’t just about data, it’s about translating that data into actionable solutions that help communities and organizations make better decisions.
Pursuing graduate coursework in Environmental Earth Science and earning certifications in GIS and Web Development from Collin College in Frisco, Texas, allowed me to bridge science with technology. This foundation, combined with hands-on experience managing city assets, broadband infrastructure, and geospatial data systems, has taught me how to take complex datasets and transform them into clear, usable insights.
I bring to the table a blend of analytical thinking, technical skill, and practical problem-solving. Whether it’s streamlining workflows, creating interactive maps and dashboards, or supporting decision-making for public works and infrastructure projects, I focus on building solutions that are accurate, efficient, and meaningful. My experience has shown me the value of connecting data with real world outcomes and that’s what I aim to bring to every project I work on.
Experience
City of McKinney • Mar 2024 - Present
GIS Asset Management Analyst
In my role, I help keep our GIS data accurate and useful, making sure nothing is missing or inconsistent. I work with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise to edit, update, and create maps, reports, and visualizations that support the city’s Public Works teams. I evaluate assets throughout their lifecycle collecting and integrating new data, planning how to gather information, documenting processes, and managing changes to help departments meet their goals.
I also develop ways to visualize data that make decision-making easier and support our overall asset management strategy. As a Cityworks System Administrator for Streets, ROW, and Traffic, I help keep systems running smoothly and support my teammates with training, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
I enjoy being involved in projects from start to finish collecting data, analyzing it, designing workflows, testing solutions, and providing ongoing support using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Cityworks, and Power BI. I interface with people across the organization to understand needs and improve processes, and I recently had the opportunity to present a custom automation workflow at the 2025 Trimble Conference to 129 industry professionals, sharing innovative GIS techniques that boosted operational efficiency.

Verizon • Mar 2022 - Dec 2023
Engineer III Consultant - Data Science
Worked on the broadband subsidy fund project by creating and maintaining maps that showed which homes were unserved or underserved, using state and county data. I managed and queried database tables in DBeaver, running full scripts as well as single queries.
I reviewed geospatial data, kept the database up to date, and performed analysis using ESRI tools such as ArcGIS Pro and Experience Builder. I built maps, applications, and dashboards that made key information easy to understand for the subsidy team.
Beyond mapping, I provided recommendations to address different challenges and helped with software setup, portal updates, and server maintenance, ensuring everything ran smoothly for the team.

TEKsystems • Nov 2018 - Jan 2022
GIS Engineer - QA Lead
Researched and compared documentation against the client’s infrastructure in FIM to ensure accuracy and completeness. I updated and refined attributes and features in 3GIS to reflect the most current information. All findings were organized and packaged for easy review and approval by the client. I also guided a small team, offering advice and techniques to help them produce high-quality validation results, all with minimal supervision.

GW Communication Solutions • Mar 2018 – Nov 2018
GIS Engineer
Created, edited, and updated client plans using AutoCAD Map 3D. I coordinated the routing and tracking of plans while maintaining open communication with government officials to secure approvals for design packages. I also provided weekly updates to the GIS manager and assisted in client communications to keep projects on track.
